Connect Gemini
Step by step: add Assetli as a custom app in the Gemini web app, in Gemini CLI or in Gemini Enterprise, and who Google allows to do it.

Connector URL: https://assetli.app/api/mcp
Gemini app (web)
Google lets you add a custom app from a remote MCP server URL in the Gemini web app. At the time of writing this requires a personal Google account (not a work or school account), age 18 or over, the United States, the app set to English and Gemini Apps Activity turned on. Checked on 30 October 2026 against Google’s help article on custom apps; Google may extend or change it. From the United Kingdom it is therefore not available yet; Gemini CLI below works from anywhere.
- On a computer, open gemini.google.com.
- Open Settings → Connected Apps.
- Under Custom apps click Add a custom app.
- Paste the connector URL and click Next.
- Approve on the Assetli consent screen: pick the profile and grant Read or Read and write.
- In a chat, type @ and choose Assetli so that Gemini uses it.
You add the app only on the web; once connected it also works in the Gemini mobile app. Google states that Gemini asks you to confirm every write action.
Gemini CLI
gemini mcp add --transport http assetli https://assetli.app/api/mcp
On the first call Gemini CLI detects that the server needs OAuth and opens the Assetli consent screen in your browser. You can also start sign-in with /mcp auth assetli inside the CLI. See the Gemini CLI documentation on MCP servers.
Gemini Enterprise
In the Business edition a team admin adds the server under Team management → Connected apps → Add MCP Server, with the connector URL and OAuth 2.0 authentication; each person then approves on the Assetli consent screen. Google offers this as a preview feature; see Google’s guide.
Writing and plan changes
Writing needs the Read and write scope and a Premium or Max plan in Assetli. Gemini, like other clients, keeps the tool list it loaded when you connected: after an upgrade, a downgrade or the end of the trial, remove Assetli from Connected Apps (or gemini mcp remove assetli) and add it again.
Disconnecting
Remove the app in Gemini under Settings → Connected Apps, and also remove it in Assetli under the account menu (top right) → AI Connection (MCP), which revokes the tokens immediately.
