Data

Does Assetli connect to my bank? No. There is no bank connection and no bank credentials are stored. You import statements or enter data by hand. See Importing data.

My bank is not in the list. Can I still import? Yes. Any CSV goes through column detection by content; if that fails, you map the columns by hand or let the AI propose a mapping from the header and a few rows. SEPA camt.053 XML and OFX files work regardless of bank.

Can I import PDF statements? Not directly. Copy the text from the PDF and paste it into the “Paste text” tab.

Will an import create duplicates? No. The preview shows how many rows are duplicates, and they are skipped. Matching uses the bank’s transaction code and, when missing, the date, amount and description.

Can I remove a bad import? Yes. Each import has a batch id; “Clean up data” on the account removes transactions by origin.

AI connection

What do I paste into Claude or ChatGPT? The connector URL https://assetli.app/api/mcp. Steps for each client are in Connect Claude and Connect ChatGPT.

Do I need an API key? No. The connection uses OAuth: the client sends you to Assetli, you sign in and approve. There is no key to copy.

Can the AI see all my profiles? No. You pick one profile on the consent screen and the token is bound to it.

Can the AI delete anything? There are no delete tools. Write tools can add transactions, trades, readings and valuables and update budgets and valuables, and only with the Write scope on a paid plan.

Does Assetli read my conversation? No. The conversation stays in your AI client. Assetli receives tool calls. Reads are not logged; writes are logged for 12 months. Details in Security and data flow.

Does the AI ask before writing? Every write has a preview tool, and the server refuses a write without the preview’s token for the same values. Claude and ChatGPT also ask before running tools. What the server cannot verify is whether you personally said yes; that is up to the AI client and is listed on the security page.

How do I disconnect? the account menu (top right) → AI Connection (MCP) → Remove. All tokens of that connector are revoked immediately.

Why can’t ChatGPT write? OpenAI allows write-capable custom connectors only on Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces at the time of writing. Plus and Pro can read.

Privacy and security

What is encrypted? Account numbers, IBANs and account notes, the Wallet token, two-factor secrets, your own AI API keys and Family Legacy notes, all with AES-256-GCM. Passwords are bcrypt hashes; tokens and API keys are SHA-256 hashes.

Where is my data stored? Application on Vercel in Frankfurt, database on MongoDB Atlas, files in object storage (Vercel Blob or Cloudflare R2). See Security and data flow.

Can I export or delete everything? Yes, both from Settings. Export gives you every record you own; deletion removes the account and all its data.

Plans

What is free? One profile, 2 bank accounts, 500 imported transactions a month, one of each asset type, the calculators, the in-app assistant with a small monthly budget, and reading through the MCP connection. The full table is in Plans and credits.

Is there a trial? 30 days of Premium for new accounts.

What does lifetime include? The plan’s features permanently and a one-time AI credit equal to six months of the plan’s budget. No renewing monthly AI budget.
