Shared expenses

Shared expenses are groups of people who pay for things together: a trip, a household, an event, an ongoing arrangement or anything custom. The group keeps who paid what, who owes whom, and how to settle with the fewest transfers.

Members

You create the group and invite others by email. Members with an Assetli account see the group in their own app; people without an account join through a share link and take part as guests. Every action in the group records who did it: owner, member, guest or the system.

Expenses and splits

Each expense has a payer, an amount and a split among the members:

Shares	Each member a number of shares, for example 2 for a couple and 1 for a single
Exact	Exact amounts per member

The group has one currency. An expense can be entered in another currency; the original amount and currency are kept and the converted amount is used for balances.

Settlements

The group shows the balance of every member and suggests the smallest set of transfers that settles everyone. A settlement is recorded when it happens, so the suggestions shrink until the group is even. A message thread and an activity log live inside the group.

Trips from the vacation planner

A plan from the vacation planner can be sent to a new trip group in one click, with its items as expenses.

Ending a group

A group is archived, not deleted, so members keep the history of who paid and who settled. Deleting your account removes the groups you own together with their expenses, settlements, messages and activity.

Limits

The Free plan allows 1 group; Premium and Max are unlimited.
